The wetland’s tourism guide

Naqadeh is a county in the West Azerbaijan province, which is located at the heart of a fertile plain and overlooks Lake Urmia from the north. This city is one of the best tourist destinations in the province due to its favorable climate. Naqadeh is located in the southern part of West Azerbaijan Province. Apples and grapes are the main products of Naqadeh city, and the greenery of these orchards in this area has created beautiful landscapes. Naqadeh was formerly known as Solduz, meaning a land covered by water. This city is also known as the salt region, because it is located on the right side of the Salt Lake of Urmia.
For tourism in Solduz Wetland, you can settle in Naqadeh. Qarapapaqs Ecotourism Resort is located in Hasanlu village and is a good place to spend a memorable night at a local resort.

When is the best time to visit the wetland?

It can be said that Solduz Wetland is an ideal place for ecotourism in autumn, late winter, spring and summer due to its diverse vegetation and bird watching site.
Interestingly, in the first 6 months of the year, the number of migratory birds in the wetland reaches 5,000. In fact, this beautiful wetland is on the migration route of birds that choose this place for nesting and hatching.

One-Day Trip to Solduz Wetland

If you want to visit the lovely Solduz wetland, you can reach Solduz wetland through Urmia to Mahabad road near Dargah Sangi Village after passing through Yadegarloo Wetland.
In a one-day program, you can spend about 4 hours to visit the wetland and its surrounding. This time will be spent visiting the wetland and its landscapes, bird watching, eating and spending time in the surrounding villages. Note that as the wetland and its surrounding is protected area, there are currently no suitable facilities for tourists and nature lovers. Hence, make sure to have suitable facilities for tourism when visiting this place. However, with prior arrangement, you can take help from the locals for visiting the place as well as providing facilities that make your visit to Solduz Wetland memorable.
If you are travelling to the wetland on a spring day, you can have a visit to Naqadeh county and its historical and scenic places by organizing a little more coherent planning.

Overnight stay program in the area

No facilities have been built around Solduz Wetland. Therefore, if you want to set up camp and stay overnight in the area, you must have complete camping equipment. You can also find a place for accommodation and eating in the villages of the region, albeit with prior coordination.
