One of the beautiful traditions of the inhabitants of this wetland is to welcome storks. Every year, as the New Year approaches (the last days of March), people wait for the storks to return to their wetland. Although storks are considered wild and carnivorous species, they have reached a kind of peaceful coexistence with the people of Soldoz Wetland. The people of this region slaughter their livestock and poultry based on the traditions and religious quotes that have received them. During the slaughter, waste and non-consumable parts are given to storks. In the local dialect and language, they call the storks and say, "Haji, come and take." As a result, the storks do not cause the slightest harm to their chickens and hens during their stay in the lagoon, and this has made people pay more attention to them. Storks nest on electric poles every year and reproduce there. The coexistence of people and storks is such that it has even been observed that local lights have been turned off or moved so that the light of the poles does not bother them at night. Another interesting point in this wetland is that some locals are hunters and make a living this way. However, the hunters know endangered species such as white duck, small white-fronted goose and marbled duck, well and do not hunt them. Even when birds are laying eggs and regenerating, they stop hunting and fully believe in the principles of hunting.
